The project to develop a National Raised Bog SAC Management Plan with national conservation objectives for this internationally important peatland habitat was launched at a meeting in the Clara Bog Interpretative Centre in Clara Co. Offaly on the 3 and 4 April 2013.
This project being funded by the National Parks and Wildlife Service is being developed by a panel of peatland experts with input from a range of national groups. The RPS Group is the project leader drawing up the plan on behalf of the NPWS, with input from hydrologist, ecologists and a range of national groups including the Peatland Council, NGOs etc.
