In a joint project Wetland Survey Ireland and Foss Environmental Consulting have developed a mapping project to show the location and provide further information on all wetlands in Ireland. You can learn more about the project here.
To check out wetlands in your area, select the map icon on the right and navigate via the Maps window to your locality or the area that interests you or search for a site by name.
By selecting and clicking on a site pin you can learn more about the selected wetland in the pop up information window. Information on the site data categories displayed and what they mean can be found here.
A summary of the main wetland data sets included on the map is given here.
A link to a response form is included below the map if you would like to submit a new site to be included on the map, report an error, or provide us with additional data about a wetland in your area.

We have created an exciting on-line story map ‘Wetlands to visit around Ireland' to help you find some great wetland sites to visit and explore around the country.
The story map brings you on an informative tour of 40 wetlands around Ireland where you can learn more about these fascinating habitats. The story map includes map location information, a brief summary of what you can discover at the sites, a summary of facilities at each location, and a link to further information from the groups that manage the reserves, opening times and much more. These wetlands represent the different types that occur in Ireland and all have fantastic facilities to cater for visitors. The groups that manage these wonderful places have invested in making the sites open to the public and allow people to learn more about these fascinating places.
